If there is something special about this whiskey it is its carefully crafted recipe, the Isle of Raasay spirit matures peated and unpeated separately in three different types of barrels: ex-Rye Whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and ex-Bordeaux red wine. These 6 barrels end up combining to create the perfect drink, a lightly peated whiskey with rich dark fruit flavors.
The landscape of Raasay is incredible and much of Scotland's geological history lies there and is reflected in this unique glass bottle capturing the rugged natural beauty. With the island's fossils and rocks molded into the glass, holding it is like holding a piece of Raasay in your hands no matter where in the world you are.
Aroma : aromatic smoke and sandalwood
Palate : slightly smoky with flavors of cherries, apricot, black currants, vanilla and toffee.
Finish : A finish of spices such as black pepper and cinnamon that give it a saline touch. Spicy but contained touch.
